Hello you guys! im back again hehe, well its quite a long time since i made my last post, now im about to make a new one and its about TOEFL Test Section 1! if you guys were wondering "wait, whats a TOEFL Test?' well im gonna explain really quick so Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a standarized test to measure the english language ability of non-native speakers wishing to enroll in English-speaking universities. The test is accepted by many English-speaking academic and professional institutions. So for those who wants to study abroad or maybe working abroad too, you guys need to take this TOEFL Test as standarization. okay now let's get into the Section 1.
Basically, TOEFL Test Section 1 were separated into 3 parts, part A usually contain short conversation between 2 speakers, part B usually contain longer conversations, the last but not least Part C usually contain you will hear several talks sometimes it's about general knowledge and you must to listen carefully because in this part gonna be very tricky and sometimes if you dont remember anything then *poof* you're so done.
Okay, now let's start with the section 1, in this part you guys will hear short conversations between 2 speakers, so the first speakers will like asking or giving some sentence then the second speakers will either react or answer the statement that speaker one gave to speaker 2. Okay, now let's go into the example!
Part A, okay first tips on this section is you must to listen carefully to the second speakers but the second speakers not always contain the answers but sometimes its an reaction, so sometimes we need to listen to the first speaker it may not be easy but try lah! here's some examples from part A
Sp 1 : "Would you please spell your name for me sir?"
Sp 2 : "Sure, W-I-T-T-N-I-E-R"
Q : What does the man say he spells his last name?
the answer is : WITTNIER
now, here's the second examples :
Sp 1 : "i have to go out of the town for a meeting tomorrow and i need somebody to work for me"
Sp 2 : "Sure, i can use the extra hours"
Q : what is the man probably going to do?
The answer is : Work with the woman
see, most of the answers were on the speakers 2, so we just have to listen to the speakers 2 before we listen to the question.
Now, we move on to the listening section part B!
In part B you will hear longer conversation, so you must listen carefully! tho it's long as the part C but still you guys needs to put your ears at the best state! tips for me is you just have to remember some words that very important but also keep focus on the second speaker! so, here's an example for you :
Sp 1 : "How long have you been out of the country miss? where did you go?"
Sp 2 : "I spent three weeks on switzerland and one week in greece"
Sp1 : "Did you spend anytime in agricultural areas there?"
Sp 2 : "No, i stayed mostly in the cities and spent one day at the beach in corinth"
Sp 1 : "Do you have any plants, meat, or alcoholic beverages to declare?"
Sp 2 : "I have only two bottles of wine"
Sp 1 : "What else did you buy?"
Sp 2 : "A couple of tests of costumes books and native arts and crafts"
Sp 1 : "How much did spend on your purchases while you were away?'
Sp 2 : "About $300"
Sp 1 : "Please open this small suitcase for me. Ok, give this card to the official at the red desk"

Answer : In customs
b) how many countries did the woman visit?

see lah, a bit more difficult from the part A right? chillax you guys can do it! Okay now let's move on to part C!!
In part C you guys will hear several talks about some things random, it could be an artical, could be historical stories, and could be anything! so you have to be aware with the theme that comes out for your test, tips for me, you guys needs to be very serious about this part, put your ear to at its best state and you have to know about the discussion there. Now, let's move on to the example!
